ACT is one of our core frames for intervention in perinatal mental health, due to its focus on improving Psychological Flexibility, and this frame can be applied to a variety of presenting concerns.
This one day workshop is idea for those who have either:
a) Experience with ACT but are new to Perinatal work
b) Seeing perinatal clients but new to ACT
Our model of ACT for Perinatal brings together and honours these two pathways of prior learning, so that you won't be left behind - whether you are needing to brush up on ACT or want to apply it to PIMH work.
You will come away with a consolidated sense of how to apply ACT to a range of common presenting issues, including:
- Pregnancy loss
- Birth trauma
- Antenatal and postnatal anxiety and depression
- Couples difficulties
- Complicated health concerns, including premature birth
- Social support deficits
- Past trauma and vulnerabilities
- Infant care
- Attachment and bonding concerns
